Shiseido has revised their Group Procurement Policy in hopes of promoting sustainable and responsible procurement together with their suppliers.

Their new policy now outlines the requirements for the J-beauty giant's suppliers in relation to the environment and human rights, stating that they will be evaluating their suppliers from the perspective of sustainability as well as introducing a strict, objective risk identification and correction process through third-party audits.

According to Shiseido's website, "Based on the unique Japanese spirit of Mottainai*, we strive to minimize the use of resources and promote activities that allow for reuse. In consideration of the environment, we have been cultivating formulas and ingredients that comply with high safety and quality standards. By living in harmony with the planet, we can contribute to the realization of a more sustainable world."

The reason for this is their overall mission and long-term strategy, which places sustainability at the core of its business management.
