The Ant Group announced in 2021 that they would become carbon neutral by 2030 and pledged their support in reducing emissions; however, they were able to reach those goals a lot earlier.

Ant Group is the parent company of the renowned Chinese mobile payment service, Alipay, and they were certified by the China Environmental United Certification Center, which claims the company saved over 37,909 tons of CO2e, which is equivalent to removing 15,000 cards from the road in a year.

Since 2019, the Ant Group has been implementing green computing technologies, including cloud-native time-shared scheduling and AI-based auto-scaling. Ant Group's overall success in reaching carbon neutrality was supported by this amongst the many other green technologies they've been implementing, as they aim to make specific green computing patents accessible to others worldwide.

Additionally, on World Earth Day, Microsoft and Hewlett-Packard also launched the Low Carbon Patent Pledge, which is considered to be the world's most low-carbon patent organization.
